چکیده
Artificial compressibility methods aim to reduce the stiffness of compressible Navier-Stokes equations by artificially decreasing velocity acoustic waves in fluid. This approach has originally been developed as an alternative incompressible this avoids resolution a Poisson equation. paper extends method anisothermal low Mach number flows, allowing simulations subsonic flows submitted large temperature variations, including dilatational effects. The procedure is shown be stable and accurate using finite-difference staggered grid system for simulation strongly turbulent channel flow. highly scalable nature well suited complex high-fidelity GPU processing.

Adaptive hp-Finite Element Method for Low Mach Number Flows
Flow configurations in the low-Mach number regime usually lead locally to large gradients in the velocity field as well as in the temperature variable. Such structures including boundary layers are typical in the study of e.g. heat transfer problems or more generally in situations where compression effects are mainly due to thermodynamical effects (see e.g. [1]). We propose a method based on hp...
متن کاملA discontinuous Galerkin method for inviscid low Mach number flows
10 In this work we extend the high-order Discontinuous Galerkin (DG) Finite element 11 method to inviscid low Mach number flows. The method here presented is designed 12 to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the solution at low Mach numbers using 13 both explicit and implicit schemes for the temporal discretization of the compress14 ible Euler equations. The algorithm is based on a classica...
متن کاملLow Mach Number Flows and Combustion
We prove uniform existence results for the full Navier-Stokes equations for time intervals which are independent of the Mach number, the Reynolds number and the Péclet number. We consider general equations of state and we give an application for the low Mach number limit combustion problem introduced by Majda in [18].
متن کاملLow Mach Number Limit for Viscous Compressible Flows
In this survey paper, we are concerned with the zero Mach number limit for compressible viscous flows. For the sake of (mathematical) simplicity, we restrict ourselves to the case of barotropic fluids and we assume that the flow evolves in the whole space or satisfies periodic boundary conditions. We focus on the case of ill-prepared data. Hence highly oscillating acoustic waves are likely to p...
متن کاملSemi-implicit Roe-type Fluxes for Low-mach Number Flows
Two semi-implicit methods based on the splitting of the Euler equations ux into uid and acoustic parts applied to low Mach number ows are presented. The rst method is based on the splitting of slow and fast eigenvalues of the jacobian matrix of the uxes and a semi-implicit scheme is constructed by introducing only the fast eigenvalues in the implicit matrices. The second method is based on the ...
